Description Destination

The Graz children's museum FRida & freD is a home for all children. The programs are designed to give children the opportunity to get to know the world in all its diversity and to better understand its complexity. In addition to conveying content, the focus is on ensuring that children can develop into self-confident and independent people who treat themselves, their fellow human beings and the environment with care. We want to be a place where they and their parents feel comfortable, that stimulates and challenges their senses and their imagination, touches their hearts and promotes their creativity.

In addition to our two exhibitions, which change every year, there are also theater performances in the FRida & freD KNOPFTHEATER (performances from Thursday to Sunday), a research laboratory for children aged 8 and over and numerous workshops.

      What do you actually like to eat? What happens when food is prepared? How far is food transported? And what do other people eat? Come to the FRida & freD kitchen and let exciting things about food melt in your mouth!

      Join in the digestive dance, jump like popcorn in the pan, catch the slices of toast and discover: food is on everyone's lips!

      Our laboratory is becoming a bakery!

      Why do you have to knead the bread dough and what happens to the bread when it is in the oven? And why does the bread become crispy on the outside and soft on the inside? You can find out what is behind it, or rather what is inside, in our bakery!

      But you won't miss out on the enjoyment either, when you churn butter, make curd and bake bread yourself in the laboratory!

    From the main square towards the main bridge and turn left in front of it and go down the stairs - also a very nice walk. Always go straight along the Mur to Augarten Park. A little way into the park and then immediately left to the children's museum.

    • Mein kleiner Sohn wird diesen 8. Oktober 5 Jahre alt und ich suche nach Ideen, wo wir seinen Geburtstag feiern könnten (mit Eltern!!).
