Description Destination

With the Hochwurzen summit cable car, the ascent is already an experience. The gondolas are made entirely of glass and offer a breathtaking view of the Dachstein Mountains.

Once you reach the top, a leisurely family hike along the Bankerlweg with 25 original seating areas, hikes with breathtaking views of the Schladminger Tauern and the Dachstein or a fast descent into the valley on the Mountain Gokart await you.

      What the toboggan is in winter on the Hochwurzen, the mountain go-kart is in summer, popular with young and old!

      The "Harley-like" fun sport device on 3 wheels takes you over 7 km into the valley at high speed. Fun is guaranteed for young and old.

      After registering in the valley at the Ski Lenz spot shop, you take the gondola to the Hochwurzen mountain station, where the start of the mountain go-kart track is located.

      Take a seat in the middle of nature!

      You can take a leisurely one-hour hike along the circular path from the mountain station over shady, romantic forest paths up to the summit.

      Along the way you will find a number of rest areas, which invite you to sit down with around 20 original and unusual benches.

      You can also admire hand-carved, life-sized animal sculptures, which are set up along the path and have a lot to say about the local animal world.

      You can enjoy Styrian cosiness and culinary highlights at two huts on the Hochwurzen. Either right next to the mountain station in the Hochwurzen hut or right next to the valley station in the Tauernalm.

      Whether a hearty snack, a sugary Kaiserschmarrn or delicious farmer's doughnuts - our huts are sure to have the right refreshment for everyone.

    (A 10) to the Ennstal junction. From there, it is only about 25 km to the Schladming-Dachstein region via the Ennstal federal road (B 320).

    Coming from the east, you can travel via Vienna (A 23) and the southern motorway (A 2), then via the Semmering (S 6) to the St. Michael junction. From there, you can take the Pyhrn motorway (A 9) to the Liezen junction and then the Ennstal federal road (B 320) to the region.

    From the south-east you can reach the Schladming-Dachstein region via the Pyhrn motorway (A 9) to the Liezen junction and then on the Ennstal federal road (B 320).
