Description Destination

The House of the Sea 🌊 displays more than 10,000 animals 🐠 on over 5000 m².

This is a zoo that keeps aquarium animals 🐙preferably from the Mediterranean and from tropical freshwater and seawater habitats, such as piranhas 🐠 sea turtles 🐢 and corals.

More than 640,000 visitors (2018) visit the House of the Sea every year.

This makes it one of the most visited attractions in the city of Vienna.

You will also find a terrarium department here as well as a tropical house with birds, bats and monkeys (including marmosets) that are not separated from visitors by bars or glass panes.

In the crocodile park above the entrance hall, crocodiles, turtles, fish, monkeys and birds can be easily observed.

On the 10th floor you will find a hammerhead shark tank and there is also an Amazon passage!

The small flak tower museum is located on the 9th to the 10th floor. It was built and expanded inside with a focus on remembering.

The House of the Sea is a private initiative.

    Top Trotz Corona Massnahmen

    Trotz der Massnahmen (covid 19) war es ein toller Ausflug! Ein einbahnsystem ermöglicht eine Besichtigung mit nur wenig menschenansammlungen!
    Alles sehr sauber und gepflegt!
    Alle Tiere sind wunderbar beschrieben und auch sehr schön zu sehen!
    Unser Sohn fast 3 Jahre war begeistert!
