By car:
Coming from Graz
the A9 Phyrnautobahn heading north, then S35 Brucker Schnellstraße and S6 Semmering Schnellstraße to the Kapfenberg exit, then B20 (Mariazeller Bundesstraße) 49 km north (signpost).
Variant:
S6 to the St. Marein exit and then via Pogusch to Turnau and from Au on the B20 to Mariazell.
Coming from Salzburg
the Westautobahn A1 to exit Ybbs, then B25 to Scheibbs, from there two options:
either B28 via Wastl am Wald to the B20, then via Annaberg and Josefsberg
or B25 further to Grubberg and then B71 over the newly developed Zellerrain.
Coming from Vienna
the Westautobahn A1 to the St. Pölten Süd exit
Then B20 (Mariazeller Bundesstraße) 76 km south, either via Annaberg and Josefsberg
or in Freiland turn left from the B20 onto the B21 and via Hohenberg and St. Aegyd through the Halltal to Mariazell (sufficiently signposted).
Variant:
Southern Autobahn A2 and S6 Semmering Expressway to Mürzzuschlag, then via Neuberg and Mürzsteg on the B21 to Mariazell.

By train from Graz main station to Bruck/Mur, then change to MVG bus line 172
Coming from Salzburg
ÖBB Westbahn to St. Pölten, then change to the Mariazellerbahn
Coming from Vienna
Option 1: Postbus from Vienna Central Station to Mariazell
Option 2: ÖBB main station to St. Pölten, then change to the Mariazellerbahn
Option 3: ÖBB main station to Baden, then change to the post bus
