Description Destination
The Roman city quarter can, without exaggeration, be described as the showpiece of the Roman city of Carnuntum. Four fully functional houses, the large visitor center, the "Forum Culinarium" restaurant, a large children's playground and a huge outdoor area with trees and meadows take visitors on a unique journey into the ancient Roman world, where everyday life can be forgotten for a few hours.
There is a lot to see: the fully functional bathhouse, the "Roman thermal baths", a stately city palace, the "villa urbana", the busy house of the oil merchant and the bourgeois "House of Lucius". Experience the water splashing in the thermal baths, admire the fantastic wall paintings in the villa, or stroll through Lucius' garden.

Two weekends, three different locations and a spectacular program - the Roman Festival in Carnuntum is the historical event of superlatives! Legionary groups, barbarians, craftsmen, traders and Roman citizens allow you to experience the world of antiquity up close. In the amphitheater, the gladiators compete in the arena and offer the audience in the stands spectacular show fights. Other program items for Roman fans at the biggest event of the season in 2019 include varied games and craft stations for children, Roman medicine, dances, fashion shows, Roman cuisine and much more.
