Description Destination
The themed trail is located above the "Schellen-Ursli village" of Guarda. It was reopened in summer 2017. The route leads from Guarda to "Plan dal Növ", across to "Clüs", to the "Lajet" and back down to Guarda. The trail focuses on highlights from the book such as the distribution of bells, the adventurous climb to the Maiensäss or the joyful "Chalandamarz" bell procession. The experience is always the focus. This means that the whole story is not told, but rather the visitors' imagination is given plenty of scope.

Schellen-Ursli Exhibition
You can experience what Schellen-Ursli from Selina Chönz's famous children's story probably lived like in the small museum in the Parsepan bar. Located in Guarda, directly opposite the Meissner Hotel, it offers insights into various scenes from the children's story. For Schellen-Ursli fans young and old, the story becomes real here. And even those who don't know the little Engadin boy yet can learn a lot about traditional village life here. There is a café attached to the museum that is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Engadin village Guarda
High above the Inn, far from the valley road and the railway line, lies Guarda, shining as brightly as the sun. It fascinates and captivates visitors like an open treasure chest: Selina Chönz and Alois Carigiet were inspired by the village of 200 souls back in 1945 and created the story of Schellen-Ursli here. In 1975, Guarda received the Wakker Prize for its intact village image. And for decades, city refugees with grandiose ideas have been heading here - out of fascination for the model village of Romanesque culture and tradition. With a great sense of authenticity and passionate craftsmanship, the residents make the fascination come alive for all the senses.
