Description Destination
The museum's holdings cover two main themes: the ground floor documents the history and development of the Zirndorf toy industry. Since the middle of the 19th century, mainly humming tops, rattles, trumpets and money boxes have been produced here. The upper floor of the museum is dedicated to the history of Zirndorf during the Thirty Years' War. In 1632, a military encounter with Gustav II Adolf of Sweden took place near the Alte Veste, where Albrecht von Wallenstein had set up camp. Special exhibitions on cultural history topics enrich the museum program in the attic room.

The thematic focus on the ground floor is the history and development of the Zirndorf toy industry. In the immediate vicinity of the well-known toy towns of Nuremberg and Fürth, simple tin toys were also produced in Zirndorf from the middle of the 19th century, especially humming tops, rattles, trumpets, children's stoves and money boxes.

Thirty Years' War
The upper floor of the museum is dedicated to the history of Zirndorf during the Thirty Years' War. In 1632, a military encounter with Gustav II Adolf of Sweden took place near the Alte Veste, where commander-in-chief Albrecht von Wallenstein had set up a camp. Dioramas and models as well as contemporary descriptions of camp life, the fate of the soldiers and the civilian population illustrate this chapter of Franconian military history.
