In miniXplore, the focus is on playful exploration - without operating instructions and without "right" and "wrong". Public transportation:
Tram lines 60 and 52 (Penzinger Straße and Johnstraße stations respectively)
Bus line 10A (station Johnstraße / Linzer Straße)
Bus line 57A (station Anschützgasse)
Underground line U4 (Schönbrunn station, approx. 10 min walk)
Underground line U3 (Johnstraße station, approx. 10 min walk)
Note: There are stations for tram line 60 and U3 at Westbahnhof.
Directions for coaches:
Coaches have the option of stopping in front of the museum while passengers are getting on or off. The nearest parking option for coaches is at the bus parking lot in front of Schönbrunn Palace (400 m away).
Arrival by car:
There is a paid garage (APCOA) next to the museum (entrance Linzerstrasse) and disabled parking spaces in front of the Mariahilfer Strasse entrance.
Coming from western Austria: A1 west entrance Vienna (to the end of the A1), head towards Schönbrunn Palace, turn left at the main entrance of Schönbrunn Palace onto Schönbrunner Schlossallee, then turn right at the next opportunity onto Mariahilfer Straße.

Ein Tag ist nicht genug
Ich war echt erstaunt, was das technische Museum alles zu bieten hat. Das Bergwerk mit der Vorführung der luftbetriebenen Hämmer kennt ja jeder, aber es gibt auch eine Hochspannungsvorführung mit Blitzen und ein Bastellabor, in dem die (älteren) Kinder mit 3D-Druckern experimentieren können. Uns ist der Tag viel zu kurz geworden. Tipp: Workshops und Vorführungen im Voraus online buchen.

Spannender Ausflug
Es ist nur zu empfehlen, für gross und klein. Es gibt so viel zu entdecken und man kann den ganzen Tag dort verbringen. Haben uns von der Homepage noch die Rätselralley ausgedruckt somit war der Spannungs und Spassfaktor noch größer.

Das mini und das mini mobil sind perfekte Indoor-Spiele für kleine Entdecker! Mit Bobby Cars können die Kinder eine eigens gebaute Rennstrecke inklusive Tunnel entlang flitzen, motorische Fähigkeiten werden durch diverse große Würfel, Angeln usw gefördert. Und Mama und Papa können abwechselnd die Ausstellung im technischen Museum ansehen. Ein toller Ausflug für die ganze Familie! Es empfiehlt sich, morgens früh dran zu sein, weil nur eine begrenzte Anzahl an Personen in dir Kinder Bereiche rein gelassen werden und diese schnell erreicht werden kann (weil es sich auch wirklich zudenken lohnt!).

Wahnsinnig tolles Museum für Kinder bei jedem Wetter
Vielleicht denkt man in erster Linie nicht an einen perfekten Ort für Kleinkinder wenn man ans technische Museum denkt, doch die Bereiche "mini" und "mini mobil" sind der Hit! Es gibt dort zahlreiche interaktive Elemente, ein Schiff, Magnetangeln, eine Rennstrecke für Gokarts, ein Flugzeug, das Universum, Rutschen, ... Wir waren mit unserem gerade mal 2jährigen Sohn und einer Freundin mit ihrem 2,5jährigen Sohn und wir bekamen beide fast nicht mehr weg von dort. Man kann also sagen, das Technische Museum ist ein perfektes Ausflugsziel bei Schlechtwetter, dass man aber unbedingt besuchen sollte wenn man in Wien ist, egal ob draußen die Sonne scheint.
