Description Destination
After the legendary Four Hills Tournament, the dream of flying is now coming true for children from Vienna: girls and boys who have always wanted to try ski jumping now have the opportunity to do so. Children between the ages of six and nine who can already ski take off for the first time under professional supervision - at the 1st Vienna Four Hills Tournament. The trial will take place on the two weekends of 11 & 12 and 18 & 19 January 2025 and in between on Wednesday and Thursday, 15 & 16 January 2025. The Stadtadler, the only ski jumping club in Vienna, Lower Austria and Burgenland, are building a small ski jump at four special locations in Vienna: at the Ferris wheel in the Prater, in the Museumsquartier, in the Marx-Halle and at the Vienna Capitals ice arena. It doesn't matter whether there is snow in Vienna or not - the children jump over a real running track and then land on a kind of grass carpet. All information and registration at stadtadler.at.
The Stadtadler are an exception in skiing: although they are not exactly at home in the high alpine part of the country, they are one of the largest ski jumping clubs in Austria. Among the more than 200 members is Meghann Wadsak, the first Viennese World Cup starter, Louis Obersteiner, a youth Olympic champion and youth world champion, and several school and youth national champions from recent years.
