Description Destination
The district museum is located in the middle of Dachau's old town in the former treasury office of the Dachau district court. It displays around 2,000 items on the cultural history and folklore of Dachau and its surroundings on three floors. A large model shows the Dachau market around 1700. You can explore its history at an interactive terminal. Which craftsmen were represented in the market and which tools did they use? A reconstructed living room and bedroom as well as a kitchen with a pantry show how people used to live in the country. A chamber wagon that used to transport a bride's trousseau is one of the museum's attractions. The famous Dachau costume is also presented in detail.
Exciting special exhibitions are regularly shown on the ground floor.
