In the centre of Radenthein, in the Nockberge Biosphere Park, is the GRANATIUM, an extraordinary and family-friendly adventure world centred around GARNET, the “stone of love and passion”.
The Granatium – Experience and marvel at nature
Experience the fascinating world of garnet and enjoy a welcome cooling down: In our tunnel the temperature is a constant 8°C all year round – perfect for hot summer days!
Start in the Granatium building with reception, shop and grinding shop. In the exhibition you will discover the history of garnet and enter the garnet room, which makes the power of the stone of love tangible. The special exhibition “THE WORK – then and now” offers exciting insights into magnesite mining.
A highlight is the mystically illuminated garnet vein inside the mountain. Afterwards, our mining area awaits you: surrounded by rocks, forest and a rushing stream, you can mine grenades yourself – tools included!
Relax on a nature trail along the stream, over a nostalgic suspension bridge, to the “Blue Tumpf” – the beginning of the picturesque Granatschlucht.
