Description Destination

The Royal Spa Garden (designed in 1868 by court gardener Carl von Effner) is the heart of the Alpine town of Bad Reichenhall. A green oasis that offers all kinds of highlights. Particularly impressive is the Gradierhaus, an Alpine brine open-air inhalation facility that is open from around April to October. There you can walk along the large blackthorn walls and breathe in the liberating salt air. Perfect when a small cold is coming on, or simply for prevention and strengthening the immune system. Afterwards, you can relax in style in a deck chair by the glittering salt water fountain. Or you can attend a concert by the Bad Reichenhall Philharmonic Orchestra, who regularly play in the historic concert rotunda or open-air directly in the Royal Spa Gardens. The Royal Kurhaus is a gem and is often used for events, weddings, trade fairs, conferences and concerts. The open staircase into the spa gardens is a great photo location.
If you stroll through the Royal Spa Gardens, you will discover numerous interesting plants and trees, including the handkerchief tree and even a gingerbread tree!
If you like, you can then take a detour to the pedestrian zone that adjoins the spa gardens.
Tip: Visit Bayerisch Gmain - the sun terrace of the spa town of Bad Reichenhall!
