Mumuth Graz The House for Music and Musical Theatre The House for Music and Musical Theatre was built specifically for the University of Art and opened in 2009 after a three-year construction period. The spectacular design by the Dutch architect Ben van Berkel was the winning project in an international competition and is dominated by the materials steel, concrete and glass in various combinations and overlays. It was awarded the Fischer von Erlach Prize and the Urban Land Institute Award in 2010. In addition to the large György Ligeti Hall with its unique variable acoustics, there is an orchestra rehearsal room, a rehearsal stage and other studios and theatre infrastructure.
