The herd of wild boars from Calwer Wimberg have it good. In the 5 hectare enclosure, the animals don't live quite as wild as they do in the wild, but they do enjoy a number of advantages.
The animals are regularly fed species-appropriate food consisting of grain, corn and beets.
Wild boars are also omnivores. They also like to eat mice, worms, roots, acorns and plums.
Rummaging through the earth with their sensitive sense of smell also ensures that the forest floor is well ventilated.
You can get very close to the wild boars if you go onto the observation deck that extends into the enclosure.
An information board also provides interesting information about the animals' lives.
And afterwards, you can have a wonderful picnic and romp around on the barbecue area with a playground not far away. This makes experiencing nature fun.

    The wild boar enclosure is about 300 m from the Zavelsteiner Straße forest car park.
    The excellent infrastructure enables an easy and smooth journey
    by car. Calw also has a significant public transport network. Calw is located on the Pforzheim - Tübingen cultural railway line.
    The train station is located directly in the city. In addition, the Calw Transport Company provides a dense bus network.
    Calw is located approximately 60 km southwest of the Baden-Württemberg state capital Stuttgart. Calw can be reached via the A 5, A 8 and A 81 motorways and then via the B 295, B 296 and B 463 federal highways.

    Exit Pforzheim-West (approx. 25 km); Continue on the federal highway 463 towards Calw
    • Motorway A8 from Ulm/Stuttgart:
    Exit Leonberg (approx. 30 km), continue on the federal road 295 towards Weil der Stadt to
    Calw
    • Motorway A81 from the south/Lake Constance:
    Exit Gärtringen-Stadtmitte (approx. 20 km), continue on the K 1075; near Deckenpfronn
    left onto the K 1022. At the roundabout take the first exit and continue on the B 296 towards Calw
    drive.
