Description Destination

The Benedictine Abbey of Admont is the oldest existing monastery in Styria with a unique jewel: the world's largest monastery library. Since 2003, the large museum has been a further highlight. On display are manuscripts and early prints, art from the Middle Ages to the present, a natural history collection, a Gothic museum as well as multimedia monastery presentations and special exhibitions.

    Overall impression

    War vom 23.8-25.8.24 in Admont. Am Freitag Abend sangen die Wiener Sängerknaben. Wunder schön und lustig. Die kleinen und größeren sangen, einfach herrlich. Was mich bei der Kirche sehr, sehr stört das man das Weihwasser in grüne Mineralwasser Flaschen verkauft. Die 50cent finde ich schon ok. Wenn man aber jemand ein Geschenk machen will, hat man keine Möglichkeit. Kleine Fläschchen mit einem Motiv vom Kloster oder Kirche wäre eine gute Idee. Sonst ist Admont nur zu empfehlen. Fahre sicher wieder und gerne.
