Surrounded by beautiful nature, the Salzstiegl is both a haven of peace and a starting point for adventures in summer. Explore the surrounding forests, lush alpine meadows and experience the peace and quiet while hiking. From leisurely hut hikes to challenging hiking tours, the Salzstiegl has a wide range to offer.
In addition to hiking trails, you will also find plenty of action at Salzstiegl. At the Gasthof Mosterhaus, adventure seekers will find a 19.5 hectare trial park, which impresses with many natural obstacles and some artificial barriers. If you have always wanted to try trial riding, you have the opportunity to book a trial lesson including a trainer and equipment. In this lesson you will learn the basic techniques such as: stopping, starting, driving large and tight curves, driving uphill and downhill. They also learn to stand still in every situation. If you already have more experience, you can take part in a day trip. Children also have the opportunity to learn this sport – special e-trials are used for this purpose.
In winter, the Salzstiegl is a paradise for winter sports fans. With 40 hectares of slopes and a total of 12 kilometers of runs, the mountain offers optimal conditions for skiers and snowboarders. For non-skiers we also have a two-kilometer-long toboggan run (secured, boarded and illuminated).

The Moasterhaus adventure inn is located in beautiful western Styria and is 1 hour by car from Graz and Klagenfurt and 2 hours from Vienna.
Access from Graz - approx. 59 km - 1 hour
On the A2 southern motorway towards Klagenfurt, take the Modriach exit (immediately after the Herzogberg tunnel). Always follow the sign Hirschegg/Salzstiegl 22 km. In Hirschegg turn right - approx. 9 km to Salzstiegl
Access from Upper Styria - approx. 30 km - half an hour
From Zeltweg West (always follow the sign "Gaberl") to Weißkirchen and then towards Gaberl/Köflach to Großfeistritz. In Großfeistritz, near the chapel and the Heurigen Köck, turn right towards Kleinfeistritz and Salzstiegl (signpost). In Kleinfeistritz turn right again towards Salzstiegl. (There is also a sign saying Kothgraben). Follow the asphalt road for about 7km. Then a wide gravel road begins. You drive over the Salzstieglpass on the other side of the mountain and then down again for about 2 km - and you have already arrived at the Moasterhaus inn and at the valley station of the Salzstiegl lifts.
