Description Destination
The Haus des Meeres Aqua Terra Zoo is housed in a 50m high former flak tower from the Second World War. On what are now 11 floors, you can marvel at a total of over 10,000 animals such as sharks, rays, turtles on water and land, crocodiles, lizards of all kinds, snakes, freshwater and saltwater fish, birds, fruit bats, various monkeys, insects, and so on...
One of the highlights - in addition to the two-story shark tank - is undoubtedly the surf reef, where countless colorful, tropical fish frolic among corals.
The Haus des Meeres also offers events such as shark feedings, guided tours, a restaurant and a café, a panoramic terrace with a wonderful view of Vienna and a shop.
Outside there is a large children's playground and a climbing wall.
Note: On bad weather days, especially on weekends and during holidays, you should get there early, otherwise it is very busy.
