Description Destination
The LEUM - the only collection of old lighting fixtures in Austria - is entirely dedicated to the history of artificial lighting. It offers a multimedia journey through time through sight, hearing, smell and touch, from pinewood to oil lamps and gas lights to the high-tech lamps of today: Interactive texts and films, touch and smell stations make the "story of light" come alive with all the senses. The puzzle rally with the mascot "Kerzerl" is particularly exciting for children.
The museum also offers interesting facts about Leobersdorf's local history. A cooper's workshop and an original shoemaker's workshop are also on display.
Opening times
From February 1 to March 31 every Sunday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., from April 1 to June 30 every Saturday and Sunday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and from July 1 to November 30 only Sundays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Closed in December and January.
