The new highlight at the end of the valley: The WILDLIFE TRAIL
If you explore the area in Saalbach carefully, you will occasionally spot a shy deer, catch a brief glimpse of an excited squirrel before it disappears back into the forest canopy, or even spot a curious marmot on the side of the road. Far away from the hiking trails, the Pinzgau grass mountains are also a habitat for a diverse animal kingdom that is rarely seen. On the new Wildlife Trail, you can explore together with Lilo and Ossi which animals live in the Glemmtal, what they look like and how they live, and learn funny details about the animal residents.
Chamois, foxes, golden eagles, deer and the like are masters at the game of hide and seek and only lucky ones can tell of an encounter. During this exploration tour on the nature trail, you are guaranteed to come across a devout golden eagle, a playful chamois, a curious marmot, a clever fox and a magnificent stag. The life-size wooden figures can even be petted. The absolute highlight of the nature trail: The majestic Alpine ibex, "the King of the Alps", awaits a visit at the end in full life size and in the flesh in the large ibex enclosure. And with a lot of luck, you can spot the animals in their natural habitat through the large binoculars at the Ossmannalm.
You will find the folder with the wildlife quiz at the beginning of the Wildlife Trail.
Grab this and a pen, solve the puzzle and then collect the medal at the Ossmannalm.
(On the day of rest at the tourist office in Saalbach)
The WILDLIFE TRAIL is open daily. Admission is free.
