Description Destination

In May 1972, Mercedes-Benz surprised everyone by presenting an innovative agricultural tractor under the brand name MB-trac. This went into production in Gaggenau in June 1973. Four equally sized wheels, a driver's cabin in the middle of the vehicle and an unrivalled application concept distinguished the newcomer. The 440 series was the first and therefore smallest series of the MB-trac, which was built from July 1973 to December 1991. The basis was the Unimog 403 from which the OM 314 and the UG2/27 were taken over and 60% parts similarity to the Unimog was achieved.
The special exhibition "50 years of MB-trac" shows all MB-trac series in addition to the Mercedes Benz diesel tractor OE mentioned above.
In addition, special vehicles and their areas of application are presented.
The exhibition can be seen in the Unimog Museum until April 2024. On Sunday, October 29th, there will be an action day for the current special exhibition from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Visitors can expect a varied supporting program in and around the museum with lectures, guided tours and demonstrations of MB-trac in the outdoor area. On this day, the Unimog Museum offers an exciting program for MB-trac enthusiasts and their vehicles.

    By car: Coming from the motorway, take the B 462 towards Gaggenau and take the Rotenfels Castle exit.

    By train: Get off at Bad Rotenfels Castle. Follow the Murgtalstraße and cross the Murg on the Schmelzerbrücke. Walk through the underpass of the B462, it ends in the car park of the Unimog Museum, which is now on your right.
