Description Destination
The Monte Brè funicular has been part of Lugano's history since 1908. The 1599 m long railway line takes you to the top of Monte Brè (933 m above sea level) in less than 10 minutes.
Famous as the sunniest mountain in Switzerland, Monte Brè offers breathtaking views of the lake and the surrounding mountains. A perfect destination for a pleasant escape from the city.
Once you have reached the top of Monte Brè by funicular, you can go on numerous excursions from there. Hikes, mountain bike tours, walks in unspoilt nature, or explore the center of Brè with its works of art. The tours also offer ideal opportunities for a picnic or a visit to one of the restaurants serving typical regional specialties.
