Description Destination
The exhibition presents the highest peaks on earth as well as the achievements of Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner. She was the first woman in the world to successfully climb all 14 eight-thousanders without additional oxygen and is the patron of the museum. She uses audio stations to address the topics of risk, responsibility, happiness, joy and death.
The adventure begins up close in the weather room with storms, wind and avalanches. You can find out exciting details about the first ascents and the different ascent routes, the physical requirements and dangers as well as the equipment required for an expedition in the exhibition.
Children can use the quiz booklet "With knowledge to the summit" to explore the topics independently using the many museum educational stations.
