Description Destination
In the Bromriesenstollen you can experience what it must have felt like to earn your living under the most difficult conditions. Equipped only with headlamps in the dark, the guide leads you up ladders into the tunnel system. The mining methods used at the time, such as fire-setting, chiseling and blasting, can still be seen today. The unique experience “underground” lets you delve deep into the mystical life of the miners. The interplay of being impressed and feeling butterflies in your stomach has already prompted many to climb into the mountain again: good luck! There is no more impressive way to experience history!

From Schladming via the L722 Rohrmoosstraße towards Rohrmoos, at the roundabout via the L723 Tälerstraße turn left towards Obertal and Untertal. At the end of the small town of Untertal turn right into Obertal and drive to Hopfriesen (approx. 7 km from Untertal village).
The guided tunnel hike through the “Bromriesen” silver mining tunnel is an experience in any weather. Ankle-high mountain boots (!), durable trousers, surefootedness and fitness required - alpine hike with a steep approach. Children from 7 years, minimum number of participants: 6 people, duration approx. 3.5 hours
