Discover Ötzi's habitat

The archaeological open-air museum in Unser Frau is all about Ötzi, the Iceman. Visitors learn how and where Ötzi was found in 1991 and how he and his contemporaries lived 5,300 years ago. Special highlights of the exhibitions are the faithful replicas of Stone Age houses (open-air area) and of Ötzi's clothes, weapons and tools (indoor). The tour lasts around an hour (course 1). Demonstrations of Stone Age fire-making take place every hour on the hour. Families and friends of old craft techniques should definitely plan time for the visitor workshop and stop by the archery range and the dugout canoe jetty. (course 1-3, three-four hours).

Public transport: The hourly train line 250 Merano-Mals and the bus line 261 Naturno-Schnalstal will take you to us. Stop: Unser Frau Oberdorf.
3 minutes on foot.
Car or coach: The archeoParc is about an hour's drive north-west of Bolzano. On the SS38 Bolzano-Stelvio between Naturno West and Tschars, turn into the Schnalstal and follow the signs. It is 14 km from the valley entrance to us.
