Description Destination

Admont Abbey, a Benedictine monastery, is the oldest existing monastery in Styria and boasts a unique jewel: the world's largest monastic library. Since 2003, the large museum has complemented it as another highlight. Visitors can see manuscripts and early printed books, art from the Middle Ages to the present day, a natural history collection, a Gothic museum, as well as multimedia presentations about the abbey and special exhibitions.

    Overall impression

    War vom 23.8-25.8.24 in Admont. Am Freitag Abend sangen die Wiener Sängerknaben. Wunder schön und lustig. Die kleinen und größeren sangen, einfach herrlich. Was mich bei der Kirche sehr, sehr stört das man das Weihwasser in grüne Mineralwasser Flaschen verkauft. Die 50cent finde ich schon ok. Wenn man aber jemand ein Geschenk machen will, hat man keine Möglichkeit. Kleine Fläschchen mit einem Motiv vom Kloster oder Kirche wäre eine gute Idee. Sonst ist Admont nur zu empfehlen. Fahre sicher wieder und gerne.
