With the BÜCHER(T)RÄUMEN (Book Spaces), a book fair is being created on the Mariahilfberg in Gutenstein that does not place literature in an anonymous exhibition hall, but in special spaces full of history, nature and atmosphere. The event combines books, readings, encounters and a family program at an extraordinary cultural and natural location in Lower Austria.
The book fair takes place in the idyllic village guesthouse Mariahilfberg, in the Yellow House/Children's Book House, the former Hotel Zechmeister, and in the historic Servite monastery. Surrounded by forests and hills, an atmosphere is created that invites you to linger, discover and marvel. Here, history and literature, nature and encounter, authors and readers come together in a special way.
In 2026, over 70 authors, publishers and exhibitors will be presenting their work. The program includes all-day readings, book tables, personal conversations, and a separate family and children's program. In the Yellow House/Children's Book House, children and families will find a dedicated area with a variety of activities; Entry to the Children's Book House is free.
The BOOK(T)RÄUME are aimed at readers, families, children, authors, publishers, self-publishers, bookstores and everyone who wants to experience literature in a personal atmosphere. Regional specialties and refreshing drinks will be available to satisfy your appetite. Those who wish to travel comfortably can use the shuttle service from Gutenstein train station.

From Vienna:
Take the A2 Südautobahn (Southern Motorway) to the Wöllersdorf exit.
Take the B21 Gutensteiner Bundesstraße (Gutenstein Federal Highway). Before the church in Gutenstein, turn left towards Mariahilfberg Monastery. At the elementary school, turn left again, then right towards Höhenstraße Mariahilfberg (Mariahilfberg High Road), and then right again, continuing uphill for approximately 3 km. Ample parking is available.

From Vienna (travel time: approximately 1 hour 40 minutes).
From Vienna South Station or Vienna Meidling Station, take the train to Wiener Neustadt and then the regional train to Gutenstein.
