Description Destination

The City Wall via ferrata is located on the Kapuzinerberg, at the end of the famous Linzer Gasse next to the entrance to the parking garage. With a seemingly low height of only 50 meters, it is still a challenge: the difficult original route is overhanging for long stretches (difficulty level E), very strenuous and should therefore only be attempted by well-trained mountaineers.
A large information board on site gives a precise overview of the routes and their levels of difficulty.

With the renovation in 2014, three additional climbing options and a small practice via ferrata were created to make the rock accessible to beginners. The sloping panoramic ladder, on which you climb up the final wall in an exposed but enjoyable way, is the highlight of the C route. A magnificent view over Salzburg awaits you at the top!
IMPORTANT: From March 1st to June 30th, the via ferrata is closed to protect breeding falcons!
