It all started 27 years ago with the legendary cartoon about the lion cub Simba, who goes in search of his place in the eternal cycle of life. The endless expanses of the African savannah and the stirring stories of its inhabitants have since become etched in the minds and hearts of viewers. The emotional backbone of the Disney classic about betrayal, growing up, death and rebirth is, above all, the Oscar-winning soundtrack by film music legend Hans Zimmer: African rhythms and sounds paired with monumental, epic melodies and legendary hits such as Elton John's "Can You Feel The Love Tonight", "Hakuna Matata" and "Circle of Life".
In keeping with Walt Disney's pioneering spirit, the film was given a contemporary approach and an unprecedented dimension of emotion and realism in 2019 with a new, visually stunning live-action version. True to the spirit of the animated film, Oscar and Grammy winner Hans Zimmer was once again commissioned to compose the soundtrack. The result: a cinematic and musical masterpiece
