The popular Three Alpine Pastures circular hike in Avelengo and Verano, accessible year-round, takes you from Avelengo village through the meadows and forests of the Tschögglberg – the low mountain range high above Merano and the Etschtal valley – past the Bruggn pond to idyllically situated alpine pastures. You'll be rewarded with spectacular views stretching from the Texel Group near Merano to the Dolomites in the east.

Description
The starting point of the hike is the parking lot in Avelengo village at 1,280 m. After crossing the main road, follow trail no. 16, initially along a paved road, then a forest path gently ascending to the Leadner Alm in Verano (1,514 m). Following trails no. 11 and 11A, you reach the Verano Alm (1,875 m), the highest point of this hike, on forest paths. From here, trail no. 2A leads down to the Wurzer Alm (1,707 m) and then back to the starting point in Hafling village.
