We are Element Boulders Essen, one of the most popular bouldering gyms in Essen, presenting bouldering as an exciting and accessible form of sport climbing – ideal for beginners and advanced climbers alike...

What makes us so special?

Ropeless bouldering: Instead of complicated belaying techniques, bouldering on low walls is all about body awareness, movement puzzles, and technique – perfect for all fitness levels!

Huge area & diverse boulders: On approximately 2000 m² of bouldering surface, you'll find boulder problems in nine difficulty levels, with new problems added twice a week – only available here!

Training and community atmosphere: We naturally have a lounge area, a versatile training area with a Kilter Board, and a children's and family area. We invite you to linger and enjoy a shared sporting experience.

Our beautiful family area is perfect for all family members to explore and enjoy!

    Our bouldering hall is located at Haedenkampstraße 73 in Essen West, not far from the Kronenberg Center. Coming from Haedenkampstraße, the entrance to Element Boulders is located between the Fiat/Lancia car dealership and the specialist retailer for building technology.
    There is a limited number of parking spaces behind the climbing gym. Our parking spaces are clearly signposted; please only use explicitly marked spaces!
    Feel free to use the parking lot of Krupp Park in Haedenkampstr. 79.
    We can be reached by public transport using the S-Bahn lines S1, S3, S9 and regional trains via the Essen West stop; from there it is about a 7-minute walk. Tram lines 101/106 also stop here.
    The Kronenberg stop for lines 103/105 is about a 10-minute walk away.
    Alternatively, you can reach us by taking tram line 109 or bus line 145 to the Schederhofstraße stop, and then it will take you about 6 minutes on foot.
    The hall is located on the first floor. Barrier-free access is currently not possible.
