becomes a real experience. The Pirker family has opened the new erLEBZELTEREI directly in the center of Mariazell. Just like 100 years ago, the famous Mariazell honey gingerbread is made here by master craftsmen according to traditional recipes.
On more than 3,500 m², visitors can experience the traditional craft of gingerbread baking up close, from rolling out the honey dough to filling, topping and decorating. Creative gingerbread bakers write on colorful gingerbread hearts, decorate the delicacies with flowers or company logos and use icing to create true works of art. Dipping, chocolate coating and chocolate lacing are also impressively demonstrated. And not only that!
The visitor goes through the entire craft process from dough mixing to sorting and packaging, a unique feature worldwide! Of course with tasting of different types of gingerbread and lots of information about the history and tradition of the sweet craft in Mariazell.
You will be amazed at what you can make with gingerbread!
