The Fernsteinsee is primarily impressive due to its impressive colors. However, the crystal-clear water should be enjoyed with caution as it is ice cold. Enthusiastic cyclists can look forward to a cycle path around the lake.
But the lake is also very popular with anglers and divers. With a breathtaking underwater landscape, the Fernsteinsee guarantees a unique dive.
All knight fans can enjoy the dilapidated Sigmundsburg. The ruins of the hunting lodge can be found on an island in the middle of the lake.
But Fernstein Castle is also located in the immediate vicinity. It was even declared to be King Ludwig II of Bavaria's favorite excursion destination.
The castle has been used as a hotel for over 100 years.
