Description Destination

The fortress, which is supported by the striking mountain peak above Singen, is a sprawling nine hectares in size. It is considered one of the largest fortress ruins in Germany: its defensive walls and casemates, its mighty tower stumps and the large ruins of houses still give a good impression of how this bulwark must have looked in the 18th century.
Hohentwiel itself, a former volcano, is a nature reserve. And anyone who has ever enjoyed the impressive view of Lake Constance on an excursion on a beautiful day will confirm: This is the most beautiful view in Baden-Württemberg!
