FFA Museum - created in 2019 from the merger of the Altenrhein Aviation Museum FMA with the Vonier brothers - stands for Aviation Museum/Vehicle Museum Altenrhein. The location is directly on the shore of Lake Constance where Claude Dornier laid the foundation stone for the airfield and factories shortly after the First World War. The museum is a merger of the Rolls-Royce Museum Dornbirn and the Aviation Museum. The history of its creation over the last 100 years is shrouded in legend - the combination of the exhibits on display is accordingly exciting. On the one hand, there are aircraft from the former Swiss army inventory, on the other hand there are products from British production. Rolls-Royce is known for extreme reliability and top performance - the engines were the most expensive and best, making them perfect for the Swiss Air Force jets. Derived from automobile construction, F.H. Royce developed the first aircraft engine. This happened at a time when Rolls-Royce was just becoming an icon in the automotive industry - vehicles such as the Silver Ghost and Phantom models were used by famous people all over the world. The new FFA Museum will bridge the gap here from 2019 and will display vehicles from the 1930s as well as more recent sports cars and racing vehicles. From the opening in 2019, there will also be a unique opportunity to ride/fly in the mostly functional exhibits. You can also book an exciting tour with the enthusiasts of the FFA Museum - an aperitif to start or a stylish tea time to finish. The visit is a special experience - surprising impressions are guaranteed.
