The world-famous Salzburg carillon delights locals and tourists alike with its most well-known melodies three times a day - at 7:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. - except on Good Friday and Holy Saturday. Over 100 different pieces of music can be played on the large brass cylinder - and 16 of these compositions date from before 1799.
The carillon tower can be visited as part of a guided tour. Not only do you see the technical marvel of the carillon, but you also get a unique view of the city of Salzburg (if the weather is good).
