In the House of Cultures, Lindenstrasse 1 in Diedorf near Augsburg, ethnographic and folklore exhibitions take place in dialogue with modern art and local customs.
The museum is only accessible by telephone. Advance reservation, but possibly also at short notice (5 minutes beforehand) (0049/8238/60245) or via mail:webmaster@maskenmuseum.de.
On the ground floor of the house there are artists' studios and the old village smithy, where artists, art lecturers and students can hold seminars, workshops, lectures, events, concerts and exhibitions free of charge.
The gallery "Walk in Beauty" by Gabriela Graf-Braune with extraordinary hat and cap creations, as well as matching outfits for every type, always has a studio in the house. Michael Hinterleitner organizes courses in the silversmith's workshop on how to create your own extravagant piece of jewelry and produces special silver and gold jewelry.
Every year on May 1st there is an artists' festival with new vernissages, open studios, artistic events and performances, concerts, etc. Admission is free. The exhibitions can also be visited free of charge on International Museum Day, at the Culture Mile on October 3rd and during the Diedorf Community Culture Days. Every Saturday before Epiphany at 5 p.m., the support association in the House of Cultures and Mask Museum organizes a Perchten spectacle with the wild old animal masks, bells and fur costumes around the New Year's fire on the meadow in front of the Schmuttertalhalle in Diedorf.
