Description Destination

A magical experience awaits young and old visitors in the fairytale forest of Bad Breisig, a forest near the Rhine! The fairytale forest, which opened in 1934, offers 12 fairytales by the Brothers Grimm as well as an episode from Wilhelm Busch's Max and Moritz. The scenes in the individual houses are presented in a loving and child-friendly manner. The moving and talking figures are handmade based on templates from old fairy tale books. At the push of a button, they tell something from the respective fairy tale. Visitors will meet Puss in Boots, Little Red Riding Hood, the Seven Dwarves and many other fairy tale characters.
At each house there is a text panel, the “Fairy Tale Trail”, which provides adult visitors with suggestions for a better and deeper understanding of the fairy tales – an understanding that the adults can then pass on to their (grand)children.
The natural but well-kept forest path leads up to the covered café terrace, where guests can enjoy the picturesque view of the Rhine, Arenfels Castle or the foothills of the Siebengebirge. Children have the opportunity to let off steam on a small playground. Our kiosk, which also houses the cash register, offers snacks/sweets and drinks of all kinds.
After visiting the fairytale forest, it is worth taking a walk on the Little Fairytale Trail, one of the many circular hiking trails in Bad Breisig. The Little Fairy Tale Trail was created in cooperation with the Fairy Tale Forest Bad Breisig and was officially inaugurated in April 2022.

    Bad Breisig is located on the left bank of the Rhine on the northern Middle Rhine above the mouth of the Ahr between Bonn and Koblenz. The federal highway 9 (B9) takes you directly to us.
    - Enter the town "Nord" at the first traffic light on the right, there is a parking lot on the left

    - Go up the stairs on the left and follow the path for about 100 m to the fairytale forest entrance
