In 2004, the mill, which dates back to the 17th century and had been lying idle for decades, was carefully restored.
The oldest functioning mill in Switzerland can now be visited in the approximately 350-year-old building on the Paclera village street in Sta. Maria. The two deep-cut wheels drive the mill and the stamper.
Visitors get an insight into an old farming craft and can follow the path of the grain from the field to the bread.
