Description Destination
On August 19, 1853, Emperor Franz Josef became engaged to Elisabeth in Bavaria, known as Sisi, in this former salt maker's house. Today, the house houses the Museum of the History of the City of Bad Ischl and its collections bring visitors closer to the country and its people; there are regular special exhibitions on topics related to the city's history and during Advent, the museum displays the famous Kalßkrippe, one of the largest Salzkammergut nativity scenes.
