Description Destination

The museum is located in the middle of the city center, in a beautiful building with columned arcades and Renaissance character. The picturesque courtyard invites you to linger, and you can walk along the last part of the city wall. Under the battlements there is a wooden bowling alley, which is particularly popular with children.
The permanent exhibition deals with the culture of the Villach area - the main focus here is on archaeology (excavation box for children available), city history (costume station for teenagers) and art.
Every year there are also exciting temporary exhibitions with interactive elements for children, as well as a puzzle rally in midsummer for self-exploration of the exhibition.
