Description Destination
The DIORAMA is a remarkable little museum: Since 1954, it has been showing a lifelike three-dimensional depiction of the Christmas story with over 450 hand-carved figures on an area of over 80 m2.
The nativity scene created by Ferdinand Pöttmesser from Innsbruck around 1930 is almost 100 years old. The Bavarian painter Bartholomäus Wappmannsberger and the sculptor Rheinhold Zeller were responsible for the painting and the sculptural representation of the scenes.
A beautiful mineral and fossil collection with over 1,200 exhibits from all over the world has been on display in the basement since 1998. It took over 40 years to collect some of the unusual objects: Alpine quartz, fossilized creatures and large crystals from South America and China.

From Einsiedeln train station via the main road to the monastery, you can reach us in about 15 minutes.
By car: Unfortunately, there are no parking spaces; we ask you to park in one of our public parking spaces at the monastery or in the parking garage.
Coaches can stop to let visitors get out on site - but there is only short-term parking available.
