In Retz, you can visit one of Lower Austria's oldest museums! In the historic rooms of the former civic hospital, you'll gain insights into the history of the region and the town of Retz, from prehistoric times to the recent past.
The Retz Museum, housed in the historic civic hospital, is the central exhibition venue for the town's collections. These include the cultural history collection (local history, regional studies), the archaeological collection, the geological collection, and the South Moravian Gallery.
A highlight is "Queen Europa," the oldest known cartographic depiction of the continent of Europe as a royal woman.
Special exhibitions are presented regularly.
