From May 12th, the Brothers Grimm Society will be presenting a large interactive exhibition entitled "Once upon a time... Grimm's fairy tales in history and the present" in the Museum and Gallery of the City of Schwabmünchen (MUGS).
An exhibition for young and old: Visitors are greeted like a fairy tale in the outdoor area of ​​the MUGS, but nothing more is revealed in advance. Anyone who wanders through the exhibition rooms will come across many life-size fairy tale characters. Those who would like to be queen or king can sit on the huge golden throne chair, which is available as a selfie point.
More than 300 exhibits from the worldwide tradition and impact of the Grimm fairy tale collection are presented on three floors, including illustrations, graphics, books and much more. In addition to an insight into the biographies of the Brothers Grimm and the sources of the fairy tales, the range extends from the past to the present. The journey also takes visitors around the world. A separate focus is dedicated to the reception in Japan, where, in addition to early woodcut illustrations, manga and cosplay also play a role.

Friday, May 20, SOLO – An interactive crime thriller in virtual reality
Decide for yourself who you want to be in the crime story and then decide how it continues. The whole thing takes place in virtual reality!
With the VR box from the Augsburg State Theater.
Limited places at fixed times: 1:34 p.m. / 3:15 p.m. and 4:45 p.m.
Fee for VR glasses with supervision: 7,-- Euro each

Saturday, 21 May, 8:00 p.m.: Medieval servants' feast with Charles the Fool
Come and register for the medieval servants' feast, where Charles the Fool will play his songs. The following dishes will be served: pork knuckle or chicken legs with cake dumplings and vegetables including mead. An alternative for vegetarians will be served upon registration. Of course, there are also simple drinks such as "Schwabmünchner Wasser" (free) and others to choose from.
Charles the Fool entertains the convivial group with medieval songs. The cupbearer is Michael Ulzhöfer, who will be happy to refill your glass.
Menu price including 1 cup of mead: 25,-- Euro, payable upon entry, additional drinks are to be paid separately according to the price list.
