The Carinthian Nockalm road winds its way for 34 kilometers between the towns of Innerkrems and Ebene Reichenau in gentle curves through the picturesque Nockberge mountains. New views are constantly presented: of round, green peaks, of expansive alpine pastures, flowering meadows and of extensive spruce, larch and stone pine forests - the largest of their kind in the Eastern Alps! The unforgettable appearance of the "Nock'n", as the peaks, which are rarely more than 2,000 meters high, are affectionately called by the locals because of their rounded shape, is one of the geological rarities. It is not for nothing that this unique natural and cultural landscape was named the UNESCO Nockberge Biosphere Park!
