There are many outdoor pools...
.....but only a few who - like me - find themselves in such a unique situation.
Nestled between the Pielach, which gives the lovely valley its name, and the venerable Mariazell Railway, the jewel of the Austrian narrow-gauge railways. So you don't necessarily need a car to visit me, because the stop is only a 5-minute walk away.
What's also unusual about me is that you can cool off not only in the outdoor pools (you'll find one for children with a small slide and one for adults - solar heated, as befits a climate alliance community), but also in the Pielach river.
You should see how much fun children have with me when, for example, they “float” their air mattresses in the Pielach or test their skills in the “Dance of the Stones” over the water.
The little ones among you will surely enjoy the sandpit and the play equipment.
For “Sherlock Holmes” young and old, the adjacent gravel bank offers insight into the flora and fauna and a lot to discover.
You don’t just want to “relax and unwind”?
How about a beach volleyball match? Every Wednesday evening from 6 p.m. you can even play under floodlights or take part in aqua gymnastics.
There are also table tennis tables and 3 sand tennis courts (next door).
Because I mean a lot to the people of Rabenstein, they look up to me and always come up with new ideas.
Another time, the beach volleyball players measure their skills in the “sandpit”
And if you feel hungry or thirsty, just grab a snack from the buffet.
The pool manager and her team make a lot of effort to ensure the physical well-being of my guests.
