Description Destination

“The Russian House” (Russkij dom / Pусский Дом): Architectural-historical building ensemble built around 1897 according to plans by the architect Tobias Brenner. The two villas, i.e. Villa Borodina and Villa Moscow, together with the Russian Orthodox Church of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker and the summer house, form a unique building complex that was built thanks to the generous legacy (1889) of the wealthy Muscovite Nadežda Ivanovna Borodina. She wanted to create a suitable place to stay for her compatriots in Merano. The entire memorial is named after the benefactor.
