Description Destination

The Oberwölzer Sagenweg is a circular hiking trail around Rothenfels Castle with 10 stations about well-known legends from the Wölzertal.
Along the 3 km long circular hiking trail with a walking time of around 1.5 hours you will find larger-than-life sculptures, a lumberjack's hut in the style of the past, a children's playground in the shape of a dragon, and many other attractions.
In 2014, a hiking trail was also built to the original location of the legend of the "Blue Törl".
The beautiful natural landscape and the many play options make the walk an exciting experience for children and adults. If your legs are tired, there are numerous wooden benches where you can rest.

    From Murau take the main road towards Niederwölz/Scheifling. In Niederwölz take the direction of Oberwölz, along the main road to Oberwölz.
    The meeting point at the Peggesbichlturm is in the north of the city, right by the city wall.
    Here you will find the first stop on the legend trail: the night watchman!
