For over 125 years, the SchafbergBahn has been taking enthusiasts from all over the world safely and comfortably to the 1,783 m high Schafberg. Austria's steepest cog railway overcomes a height difference of almost 1,190 m in a 35-minute journey. Even during the journey, the Salzkammergut shows itself at its best. In addition to the new steam locomotives, nostalgic steam locomotives from 1893 and 1894 are also used in summer. In 85 minutes, these screw their way, tooth by tooth, towards the most beautiful mountain panorama in the Salzkammergut. In clear weather, a wonderful 360° panoramic view of the many Salzkammergut lakes and the majestic mountains of the Alps opens up after arriving at the mountain station.

Tip: An interactive showroom in the mountain station of the SchafbergBahn offers exciting insights into the history and technology of the cog railway.

    Schafbergbahn Aussicht

    Mit der Familienkarte vergünstigt, ging nur am Telefon zum reservieren.(Schafbergbahn) Man musste die Abfahrt und Rückfahrt gleich planen.. 35min fahrt. Wir waren 2std. oben
    Es war zwar teuer, aber eine hammer Aussicht.
    Wir können es nur empfehlen!!
