Description Destination

High in the north of East Frisia – the North Sea only eight kilometers away – lies the municipality of Lütetsburg. The castle is named after Lütetsburg Castle and the adjacent castle park in the style of an English landscape garden. The Inn- und Knyphausen family has lived here for generations. The current lord of the castle, Count Tido zu Inn- und Knyphausen, has made the place much more than just a noble residence:
In the castle park, you can not only enjoy a piece of cake in the castle park café, in a greenhouse surrounded by vines, but also a stroll through the avenues lined with lush rhododendrons and azaleas and the extensive park with fabulous old trees and historical decorations is worth a trip to Lütetsburg for many visitors. The park shop also offers a wide range of its own products, fine wines and many other beautiful and useful items.
A wide variety of events such as concerts, markets and readings also attract both locals and tourists to the castle park and the cultural barn. Highlights in spring are the rhododendron and azalea blossoms, the Lütetsburg corn maze, every two years in late summer the Illumina - a light art festival that transforms the castle park into an impressive sea of lights - or the magical Lütetsburg Christmas on the 3rd weekend of Advent.
Lütetsburg has a lot to offer, especially for families:
Children can go on tours in electric mini Land Rovers or be guided through the facility in a fun and exciting way with a specially developed children's audio guide. There is also an audio guide available with an adult tour. A playground also offers space for exuberant romping and climbing.
So that the Lütetsburg Castle adventure does not end after just a few hours, this small East Frisian town not far from the coast now also has special overnight accommodation options for its visitors: With us you can spend relaxing days and nights in lovingly restored country houses, in the outer bailey of Lütetsburg Castle or in the new, exclusive tree houses on the edge of a small forest in the middle of the golf course.
You are cordially invited! The park is open all year round:
May-Sept.: 8am-9pm, Oct.-April: 10am-5pm
The entire park is suitable for wheelchair users.
