The butterfly world in Tattendorf near Vienna is a glasshouse in which exotic butterflies fly freely between tropical plants and can be admired up close by visitors.
As if on a tropical trip, the butterflies take us on a magical fairy tale of flying. Marvel at these extraordinary creatures up close and be inspired by the carefree nature of the butterflies.
In the butterfly world Tattendorf there are only animals from controlled breeding, no wild butterflies are caught for us. You can marvel at extraordinary and tropical specimens from all over the world - large, colorful, small, dark, fat bumblebees and delicate fairy-like creatures.

Route plannerDirections
By car from Vienna
It's about 20km from Vienna's city limits – take the A2 towards Graz, exit at Baden, then the B218 towards Oeynhausen, cross the B17, at the end of Oeynhausen, turn right at the roundabout towards Tattendorf. In Tattendorf (after the S-curve and the sharp left turn), turn left at the Raiffeisenkasse into Dumba Park (just follow the signs).
By car from Wiener Neustadt
Take the A2 or B17 and follow the directions above (exit at Baden), or take the new Autobahn via Sollenau and then the B17. It's about 15km from Wiener Neustadt.
By train
Since December, ÖBB has been offering direct connections from Vienna Central Station to Tattendorf.
By bike
The Euro-Velo 9a runs right past us. Simply cross the wooden bridge at the end of the Tattendorfer Au (coming from Oberwaltersdorf) to the left and then immediately right (sign for "Rahofer Bräu").
